Stern Grove Festival Association is a nonprofit cultural organization committed to providing the people of the Bay Area with admission-free access to diverse performing arts. Every year since 1938, the organization presents Stern Grove Festival, an admission-free performing arts series, in Sigmund Stern Grove, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco.

TILT teaches young people who are typically underrepresented and misrepresented in media the fundamentals of moviemaking and media literacy through hands-on training in video production. TILT provides youth with lifelong skills for accessing, evaluating, analyzing, and producing media to make positive change in themselves and their communities. Todd Berman is an artist who has been working in education ever since moving to San Francisco 16 years ago. In that time, he has become an expert at engaging teenagers in the creative process. Trash Mash-Up is a community art project. Using disposable materials, collected before they enter the waste stream, participants construct “Maskostumes,” which are original pageant masks and costumes inspired by traditions from around the world. Participants learn about global traditions that are the inspiration behind their “Maskostume” design and the purpose of the overall project, while also learning about an environmental issue associated with the project.
